Office for Cognitive Urbanism

The Office for Cognitive Urbanism / OCU (Büro für kognitiven Urbanismus) was founded in 1999 by Andreas Spiegl, Christian Teckert and Christof Schlegel (member until 2000), in order to analyze the relationship of space, subjectivity and media with the aim to intervene in the realm of the politics of urban representations and discourse. The Office for Cognitive Urbanism develops methods of spatializing specific topics and agendas in the form of exhibitions, in which the layers of curation, spatial design and theory are  intertwined and confronted with artistic positions.
